As a teacher, Jestin has been praised for his patient and intelligent approach to working with students of all ages. He believes that through the exploration of style, application of technique and consistent practice anyone can earn musical proficiency.
Jestin has over a decade of teaching experience and was invited to speak at the 2011 TMTA Convention, where he gave a paper on "The Neglected Art of Transcribing", wherin he discussed the power of transcriptions in music education. He trained in pedagogy under the renowned piano pedagogues Sophia Gilmson and Martha Hilley.
